Dating back to the early 1800's, Long Grove was founded by German farmers who were reminded of their Saar valley homeland. Today, Long Grove is known for its quaint business district of more than 60 shops, galleries, and restaurants in restored buildings and landmark Victorian buildings. The charming village has a covered bridge, brick sidewalks trimmed with flowers, a fountain, and benches for sitting.

Shops include artisans of jewelry, wood, antiques, British and Irish imports, handbags, French specialties, pine furniture, interior accessories Scandinavian and European imports, boutique for dogs and cats, candles, books, womenÕs clothing, home & garden accents, winery & olive oils, French-inspired petite pastry, cider & pies and so much more.

Departure from Alverno College Lot H (just off 39 & Ohio) Bus leaves promptly at 8:30 AM - Arrive 10 minutes ahead. Return to Alverno campus at 4:30 PM.
