Journey With Us
Watertown, Wisconsin: History, Market, Artisans (and Lunch!)

October 14, 2006

If you haven't been to Watertown, Wisconsin recently, there is much to discover!

Bill Yanke III, local historian and author of WATERTOWN THEN & NOW will make yesteryear come alive as you tour the beautiful Octagon House and visit the 150 year-old First Kindergarten during a one hour tour of Watertown's historic sites.

We'll have time to browse in The Market with its unique shoppes: The Front Porch (wreaths, twigs, silk flowers, dried roses, herbs, ornaments, containers; Lavender Lane (a personal pampering station of soaps, scented draw liners, blessing rings, jewelry, scarves); The Peddler's Daughter (women's clothing, table linens and accessories); The Willows (a working studio of wheel thrown pottery, original stained glass art, unique purses and jewelry, authorized reproductions of Frank Lloyd Wright and Tiffany); Village Artisans (over 30 juried artists and craftspeople, hand-made Persian rugs, teddy bears, wood carved ducks, beadwork, wrought iron), Paper Store and more!

Enjoy a cooking demonstration with Watertown's own "Chef Emeril," owner of the brand-new Augie's European Cafe. Included lunch of CranApple-Glazed Baked Ham, Rolls, Parsley Potatoes, Salad, Toll House Pecan Pie, Coffee or Tea.

We will make a quick stop at the Upper Crust Bakery, known for its delicious homemade pies, before returning to Milwaukee.
